Shaker Performance Envelope

Enter a shaker's stroke, velocity, force and armature mass and see the displacement, velocity and force limits across the band, with a test profile drawn against them.

Defaults are a representative 50,000 lbf, 3-inch-stroke large shaker. Enter your own nameplate values; the plot is in g against hertz.

Figure 2.14. The performance envelope in g against hertz with its three regions shaded: displacement-limited, velocity-limited, force-limited. On the web the nameplate values are inputs (stroke, velocity, force, armature mass) with added moving mass and a test level, so a technician can enter their own machine; the printed figure shows a representative 50,000 lbf, 3-inch-stroke, 90 in/s large shaker with a 385 lb armature and, by default, 600 lb added; the force line is drawn in g for the total moving mass the readout states.

Figure 2.14 of Volume 1. The section it comes from explains the three limits and what to do when a profile crosses one. Volume 1
